Oromo Student Protests across Oromiya

The Oromo students protest has begun last week after the news of Finfine expansion master plan spread throughout Oromiya. All Oromo people believe that the expansion of Finfine will harm the economy, culture, political and linguistic development of Oromo people. Evidences show in different parts of Oromiya shows that at least more than 50 people kileed by TPLF regime. Hundreds of oromo students from high school Universities in oromiya arrested and prisoned by the government forces.
Still housands of students in Oromia, the largest region, in recent days to demand an immediate halt to the city’s so-called “Integrated Development Master Plan,” unveiled earlier this month. In Oromia cities including Ambo, Guder, Bale, Adama, Nekemt, Haromaya, Gimbi,Nejjo, Horro Guduru, and  Finfine dozens have been killed and several hundred jailed incommunicado by the Ethiopian government. The atrocious acts of beatings and killings being carried out against Oromo students by the government is evidence of discriminatory and persecutorial acts that are sufficient enough to warrant serious actions by international justice organizations.

The Ethiopian constitution grants a special interest to the Oromia state regarding administrative, resource and other socio-economic matters in Addis Ababa, in its article 49 which never have been implemented. This has largely resulted in significant resistance within the ruling party, OPDO, in Oromia and acontinues pressure to materialize the implementation.
