The Oromo Studies Association (OSA) expresses a profound alarm and concern over a current threat made, by African nations, to undermine International Criminal Court (ICC) activities in the continent. On a two-day meeting of the African Union (AU) held in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, from October 11-12, 2013, the African nations have agreed to protest an ICC practice of indicting sitting heads of states. The meeting also requested the ICC to delay investigations of President Uhuru Kenyatta of Kenya and his deputy, William Ruto, both wanted in connection to atrocities perpetrated on the aftermath of the 2007 elections.
