EF, Thanx for giving us interview in short notice
FM it is okay, I am appreciating for the opportunity
EF: Why did the Embassy official come before Ethiopian evacuated
FM: we cant hold anyone by force nevertheless it have moral obligation to stay behind, this doesn’t mean all Embassy worker stay behind only essential official alone stay behind and that is what they did
EF: do Ethiopian refugee get the same treatment
FM: the short answer is no, once u give up ur citizenship even if we bring them to Ethiopian they have to go throw just like Eritrean or another country who ask for refugee they reapplied … otherwise anyone can apply and come to Ethiopian we have to watch all our move… they have to prove they are not a terrorist, OLF, ONLF OR GIM7 member
EF: how do u investigate if they don’t have id
FM: it is very easy they must have UN ID for refugee they have to surrender that id and all their file when they were registered to un, if they don’t have this they have to established some kind of contact back home let say if they ever send money, if they ever bought Nile Dam, phone call
EF: how about those who have Ethiopian green card or passport
FM: no question they will be air lifted
EF: how about political activist and who demonstrated daily against u would those people accepted
FM: the first question we will ask is if they are Ethiopian first or oromo first , Ogden first if they think oromo first then what they are doing here in Ethiopian embassy I wll tell them to go and apply to oromo embassy … this is first and the most just because someone demonstrated we will not kick them out of Ethiopia, even allowed in Ethiopian to demonstrate but our question is did they break any Ethiopian law if they do they have to pay for that … this is leasson to south Africa and other place even in America there will be a time u want to go back to Ethiopian even today I was watching this happened police shooting… this means anything can happened here even in America how about the black targeting immigrant… then what r u going to do if you have no country to go to? look Ferguson anything can change it is better to have safe heaven
EF: how long do u think Ethiopian refugee get back their citizen
FM: it might take ten years we have to investigate e and until them they r staying in refugee camp … during this time they have to give up their email passport to see who they contact if they want speedily recover otherwise they have to wait ten years in this ten year if they show good character they might get their citizenship back.
